About Marieke Gouda
Marieke Penterman’s cheese-making journey began on her family's dairy farm in the Netherlands, where she developed a deep appreciation for quality dairy products. After moving to Wisconsin with her business partner, Rolf, Marieke found herself yearning for the authentic Gouda cheese of her homeland. To fill this culinary gap, she pursued a license in cheese making, leveraging her bachelor's degree in Dairy Business to master the craft. Her quest took her back to the Netherlands, where she trained under experienced cheesemakers, perfecting the art of traditional Dutch Gouda cheese-making. Upon returning to Wisconsin, Marieke founded her company, merging her Dutch heritage with premium local ingredients to produce exceptional Gouda.
