About Langres
Langres is a soft, cow's milk cheese from the Champagne-Ardenne region of northeastern France, known for its distinct, moist orange rind, which is washed with saltwater during aging. Made in small cylindrical molds, it is aged for a few weeks to develop a creamy, buttery texture with a mild, tangy flavour that deepens as it matures. One of Langres' unique features is its hollow, concave center, often filled with Marc de Champagne, a local brandy, which adds an extra layer of flavour. The cheese pairs beautifully with Champagne, sparkling wines, or light reds, and is typically enjoyed with fresh bread, crackers, or fruits, making it a refined and flavourful addition to any cheese board.
