About P'tit Basque
P'tit Basque is a French sheep's milk cheese introduced in 1997, inspired by traditional Basque methods. Made from pasteurized sheep's milk, it is aged for 70 days, resulting in a medium-firm texture and a light brown rind formed through a basket-weave pattern during the curd pressing. P'tit Basque has a mild yet earthy flavour with nutty and fruity notes, despite its pungent aroma. It’s commonly served with black cherry preserves in the Basque region, offering a delicious contrast of salty and sweet. Ideal for thinly sliced breads, it makes a perfect addition to aperitif platters or sandwiches.
